Welcome to Rachael Frost Racing
'Class A' Public Trainer
Rachael Frost has held a Class A Public Trainer’s Licence for over a decade. During that time she has amassed more than $1 million in winning stake monies and won four Group and Listed races.
The Early Years
Rachael served her jockey apprenticeship in New Zealand. However, she gave it up in 1999 and headed off to Ireland, where she worked in the stables of the famous Aidan O’Brien. Although only 19 years old, she had the privilege of attending some of Ireland’s largest and most iconic race days – an amazing and enlightening experience.
On her way back to New Zealand, she stopped over in Sydney and worked in the stables of the famous Gai Waterhouse. Then Rachael completed her overseas ‘adventure’ by moving to Melbourne where she rode freelance track work for a variety of stables.
In 2001, she returned to Otaki and raced the odd horse with a ‘Permit To Train’ licence. This led to her gaining Class A Public Trainers Licence in 2004 and she hasn’t looked back since.
Sea King, one of New Zealand’s best ever jumpers, was trained and part owned by Rachael. Later in his career, she handed him over to Kevin Myers and he went on to win the Australian Grand National, the Waikato Hurdles and the Kenny Brown Sydenham.
Spirit of Alaton, another great jumper, was also trained by Rachael to win the Waikato Hurdles on two occasions.
Other winners from the Rachael Frost Stables include:
Captain Kirk - Winner of 9 throughout his career including 4 Premier Wins
Right Royal Rose - Winner of 4
MacFinn - 2 wins from limited starts this season

Cupcake - 1 win this season
Looking ahead - youngsters coming through the ranks for the Otaki-based stable include Witch Hunt (by Zed) and an unnamed Coats Choice gelding.
Ambitions for the stables include winning some of the Classic races: The Oaks, The Derby, the Guineas...
